Tried to write friday pm but it wouldn’t let me log on. Didn’t try sat or sun but tried around 03 and again it wouldn’t let me but now at almost 05 it will. Must have problems in the middle of the night.
Oscar came home on saturday. we went to PT and this early in his recovery she said it’s mostly keeping him safe so she gave me massage techniques. Got him out of the truck ok; it was awkward but he landed safely. He took off and was going to go off the other end of the deck which has 2 steps so I stopped him because he didn’t know how to do steps. He’s been crying a lot; I take him outside, give him food, water, pain meds and he cries.
The physical therapist picked out a harness for him; it’s the convert walking harness. I was wondering about the custom made harness, also the step loader for the truck and a wheelchair?? It seems like it’s asking a lot to put all of that weight on his front leg.
The MD called and said she had his biopsy report and I’ll call her tomorrow. I just don’t know what to do for him; he seems so sad.
Oscar’s mom (Lora), Gus and Oscar
Hi Oscar and Lora and Gus!
Yeah, the site was hacked a little bit ago and the “computer admin genuises got it preety straight….might just be a little hiccup here and there and that’s whyyou can’t get on sometimes.
Now, back to sweet Oscar! All the ospital pain meds are weari g off and now the difficult task of balancing his pain meds begins.
There are a lot of links on here for some extraordinary harnesses.
Also, many here will tell you–from their expereince–NOT to start any PT i til recovery is complete….a good three weeks plus. It is such a major surgery, and even though they may be getting around fine after three weeks, they’re still recovering.
Your pup is eating, drinking, peeing, pooping, but really struggling today, right? His symptons sound very much pain related. Call your vet and ask about modifyi g the doseage. Is he on Tramadol? How much…how often?
It is very NORMAL for the dogs to have a first few good dahs and the crash!! The ups and downs will continue for awhile.
It is sooooo tough to watch. All you can do is be with him and comfort him. My Happy Hannah’s recovery took a good three weeks before I realy felt like I’d made the right decisin! And ow, ver five months post amp and still counting..-..YEAH, it was a great decision!! The sparkke and joy are delightdul!!
Stay connected tous. We are here with you. Keep usposted PLEASE!!
