Back to surgery

Oscar needs to go back to surgery to have his wound flushed and cleaned out. He’ll have a drain in for a few days. I’m wondering how that happened because I don’t think it was on my end. My poor boy.

I'm a retired nurse; plan on going back to work--need more money. Have many hobbies and interests: knitting, needlepoint, sewing, gardening, refinish wood, cross stitch. Addicted to Pinterest. Also part of an animal rescue group-animals that are in shelters where they are euthanized are transported here to Wisconsin or Minnesota. Have 2 english mastiff's. Oscar just turned 6 in march; already has hip dysplasia and arthritis and just started limping a couple of weeks ago. He has osteosarcoma in his right front leg. I was totally against amputation, thought it was cruel etc but it looks like it's the only way to take away his pain. The vet told me about this site and I need to decide tonight what to do.

  1. No! It was NOT anything you did! U fortu ately, this is o e of those “side effect” things that nappens. I’m not well versed enough to know why. Some vets just go anead and put the drain in at surgery

Is it “out patient” or spending the night?

I know you are frustrated…..I sure would be…..but this too shall pass! This journey is often described as a roller coaster ride, whether you want to get on it or not!

I think once all the fluid and/or infection are out, Oscar’s recovery will speed up fairly quickly

Plese let me know how he’s doing when you can….and how you’re doing! You are a strong women and this is just another little challenge that, fortuately has a solution!

You are NOT alone! we are right here with you
You are stuck with us:-) 🙂

Do you have any chocolate or ice cream in the house you can devour? That’s always a good way to relax:-) 🙂

Hugs to you, to Oscar and to Gus!!
