So far, so good

I have trouble with this site sometimes. I wasn’t able to publish my blog last night and it cut some of it off. Now the font is wacky. Anyway…….

I remember I had said last night that just before I went on this site I had a major “OH NO, WHAT HAVE I DONE?” moment. Katie (the little medical student) called me last night and said he was doing well and left me a message this am and said he seemed nervous and they were prepping him for surgery. When I opened this blog I was going to call it waiting and she called me to tell me he just came out of surgery and he’s doing well. There wasn’t too much bleeding which can happen with all the blood vessels they have to cut off and she’s going to call me later this evening when he wakes up. (My stomach is doing flip flops). Will add a post tonight. I’m going to read your comments now and then keep myself busy in the garden and cleaning.

I'm a retired nurse; plan on going back to work--need more money. Have many hobbies and interests: knitting, needlepoint, sewing, gardening, refinish wood, cross stitch. Addicted to Pinterest. Also part of an animal rescue group-animals that are in shelters where they are euthanized are transported here to Wisconsin or Minnesota. Have 2 english mastiff's. Oscar just turned 6 in march; already has hip dysplasia and arthritis and just started limping a couple of weeks ago. He has osteosarcoma in his right front leg. I was totally against amputation, thought it was cruel etc but it looks like it's the only way to take away his pain. The vet told me about this site and I need to decide tonight what to do.

  1. Oscar is out of surgery! That’s wonderful!! And YAY for mom janging tough!….And YAY for me not calling him Gus:-) 🙂

We all kow that “flip flop” feeling all to well! You’ll get used to it n this crazy journey! You may even have a few more, “What have I done?” episode s the first week or so! Again, NORMAL!!

But soon it will be…….I’ve made the BEST DECISION EVER!!!

Someone gave me the advice to make sure when I picked Happy Hannah up not to look at her “site”. I looked straignt into her smiley….albeit ..druggy eyes and just shwoed her how thrilled I was to be taki g her home!! I’ve never seen her once look where her leg was. She just got on

    with living and being happy!

We are all here for you! You get some good rest tonight. She’s in la..la land right now watching elephants dressed up in ballerina frilly skirts!

Surrounding you with peace and calm….and a big smooch to Gus!

    Sally and Happy Hannah

  2. First, I’m glad Oscar came through surgery. Yay! But I’m sorry your vet said he was nervous before surgery, that seems like pretty unnecessary information for a nervous pawrent! I’m happy to hear he’s good.

Oh I’m sorry you had problems with the blog. What exactly happened when you tried to publish and it wouldn’t? And it looks fine now. Let us know how we can help OK?
